Glutathione Builder

Glutathione is the considered the ‘mother’ or ‘master’ antioxidant. I took great interest in antioxidants while formulating Immun:I+ with the doctors team.

Glutathione kept coming up as being the ultimate, the best, the superior of all antioxidants because ‘it is the body’s own one’, as compared to an ‘additive one’ such as vitamin C.

Not only is it made naturally in the body, Glutathione is known to recycle other antioxidants, adding to its effectiveness.

About Antioxidants

The best way I found to understand them is to think of biting an apple. The browning and softening that happens to the apples flesh quite quickly is ‘oxidation’. Antioxidation is the opposite of that.

Antioxidants promote:

– cellular resilience (Which is where they get their ‘age defence’ properties – the intact apple cells compared to the oxidised one)
– waste release from the cell (detoxification/purge)
– this is the big one for me: energy transfer between cell sites in the body.

This last one is where antioxidants get their immune boosting properties. Imagine you are compromised with a localised issue in the body – anything from a cut, to an ailment, to breathing in pathogens.

The cells closest to the area of compromise have limited resources to deal with the issue. This is where the ‘immune system’ comes in, where it sends extra resources from elsewhere in the body to the site of the problem.

Antioxidants are the energy source for that sending of resources. Without enough antioxidants in your system, you can have the ‘total immune capacity’ to deal with a ‘localised issue,’ but your body cannot transport the extra resources to the site to deal with the issue.

This is why ‘immune boosting’ antioxidants are good for everything from a cold to a cut.
